New Year: Update Time

06/01/2011 15:21

Like baby's first cry out of the mother's womb, we feel like we're going through the same thing. Thanks for joining us on our breakout. Our entrance to the world. Thank you for really just knowing about us at 50/50 Games. If this is your first time really joining us, let me sum up our role here in life.

We're making good games for you to play, period.

I can pretty much introduce myself as Ian, a.k.a. "Darky". I'll be your usher for today's update. Feel free to ask questions all throughout. I'm here to answer. To get it out of the way, yes I'm in my school right now writing this update as I should be assisting an underclassman in his learning efforts, but I find this update for you few fans quite higher in importance.

    You're welcome by the way.

Now to get straight to business, our business, you nosey internet trolls. I'll be striaght forward, our first game is actually coming along nicely. The engine is finished, and official development on the actuaL game is about to begin. Although, before pre-production kicks into any gear, we need to have a solid staff to distribute plentiful, high quality development, evenly and keep us going at a nice pace for our anticipated release date. That of which will remain as far in the dark as Isabell Allende's "Two Words", until the time is right that is. As of now we're hiring. Yes we are. Yes we have snacks (sorry Bungie, had to say it), Yes we do have a great staff even with just the three we have, Yes we are dedicated, and yes we need anyone who qualifies under a title in the list below:

3D Design Artist: Got the skillz to killz in 3Ds Max? Know how to work other 3D design programs and have the ability to make highly detailed models and very realistic environments? We could use you. When messaging me, please be sure to send me a demo model or two of your best work along with your resume. Past works, experience, etc.

Programmer: Know C#? Know Java? Made a game before on your own strictly from programming? You might be of use to us as well. If you're interested in a position, please message me or Robert with your resume along with any sample code and/or demo material. You'll be designing the engine and updating any code for our games. We see a bug, you go squash it, we need a new engine, you go build it. Simple as that.

Sound Designer: Can you make ear tingling songs or audio clips? Do you have a knack for making people go into a trance with your wonderful sounds be it natural or computer made? Games need audio too, so please send us your resume with any completely custom made tracks either of music, voice work, folley clips, or anything of the like. You'll be helping us create some nice pieces for our game as well as helping make our game's world sound as real as it looks.

Voice Actors: Like role-playing by yourself when you're alone? That's weird... But we want your talent. Send us a resume with a few clips of yourself giving monolouges of multiple characters you think up on your own. Accent changing, heavy pitch changing, and dialect changing is heavily advised and suggested in the monolouges. That will definitely help narrow down our decision.

Emotional Support: (Not really)

If you seem to fit any of the above, please contact me via any of the methods on my contact info page. I'll be sure to hit you up (not physically), with a reply ASAP.

Anyone willing to learn is also acceptable, just be sure to try teach yourself at the same time if you need to attain quite a bit of info required for the position. I'd also like to mention that we do have a writing team but seeing as an excessive amount of people have already applied, two days into the announcement of open positions, I have no room for any writers on the team, apologies.

If you came into this update crossing your fingers, and maybe even your legs, for pictures, you am disappoint. Unfortunately I have no visual pieces to show off at the moment. Trust me though, it's workin'. In order to build up hype, who doesn't want to, we're going to save any visual information 4 our big reveal. You know when that is? If you do please tell me.

So we're cracking Down on the game, and we may need your help to bring it out in the sun faster. Again, positions are open, please contact me if you think you can fit in.

Alright well that's it for our first true update, as small as it is I think it gets our message out quite clearly. There is no set increments of time each update will be released seeing as our schedules are pretty well filled to the brim with busy work, this moment I have to spare writing to you about our current state of construction is as precious as raw diamond. So read this several times over if you wish because I left a little surprsie inside for those curious and observant readers. Our inspiration for our first game. Should give you a little taste of what to expect.

See you on the other side.
